I hadn't noticed that this garage had closed down, though I drive past it on my way home from work most days!
Apparently car sales are falling across Britain compared with 2010 and this has hit this car dealership which has gone into administration.
Winchester, ancient capital of England and judged best place to live in the UK in 2006!

This is our cinema in Southgate Street. It's a small cinema with 2 screens, housed in a restored 19th century chapel.

The Green Man
Someone might be able to correct me, but I think this is the most expensive pub that I have been to in Winchester, but then I don't get out that much, maybe they are all expensive these days! It has a pleasant interior and is just opposite from the cinema.
The pub is on the corner of Southgate & St Swithun Street, the current building dating from 1881 replaced a previous older inn built in the early 1800s. Excavations opposite the pub in 1971 showed that the Roman South Gate to the city, the replacement of which was demolished in 1771.

St Thomas & St Clements
This building is not actually used as a church anymore, it is the former church of St Thomas and St Clements in Southgate Street. The church was built in 1847 and the spire added around 10 years later. The church, after over a hundred years of use, was declared redundant in 1969. It was used as the Hampshire Records Office until 1993 and now used by Hampshire County Council.

L is for Little Minster Street
Just behind the Cathedral Close wall is Little Minster Street. There is a pretty 17th century house on the corner here, and in the background the spire of the former church of St Thomas and St Clements in Southgate Street, used as the Hampshire Records Office until 1993 and now used by Hampshire County Council.

Serle's House

Serle's House in Southgate Street was built around 1730 as a private residence. The building has been in military use since 1781 when it was bought by James Serle who's son was a captain in the South Hants Militia who turned the family home into a command centre for the regiment. The house was later sold to the government in 1796. The building now houses the Museum of The Hampshire Regiment and the Offices of the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire.
The large garden to the front of the house is dedicated and maintained as a Garden of Remembrance to all Members of the Regiment who have died in action or whilst in Service with the Regiment.
