God Begot House - the front
Following on from yesterday's post, here is God Begot House from the front, it's one of the most well known landmarks in Winchester. The building was a hotel in 1866 until 1970. The front has been restored and is not as old as the rear.
A beautiful building, and you have posted so many nice winter images that I really love!:)
ReplyDeleteHouses look cosy there in Winchester! Thank you for visiting my blog:)
ReplyDeleteLovely building, remind me a bit of the house in the north of Italy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for pass by and visiting my blog:)

have a wonderful 2011!!
Great shot of the building.
ReplyDeleteOoo this does look better.
ReplyDeleteSorry to see that pub isn't serving the public anymore! But a lot of pints were served and a lot of merriment did go through there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, it's a nice building. The owners were planning to demolish it in the 1930s! Fortunately the local council wouldn't let them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the view. I have 3 postcards with artists view of the hotel in 1957.
