I love these old post boxes, this old E Cole and Co one is quite unusual. If it is still in use, then it is also almost unique?
I can not remember to have seen one like this in the UK, so I will have t be more aware of details next time I am over in England:)
Yes it is actually still in use as a post box - I thought it looked unusual, didn't realise it was so rare though.
Now that is different. I love it.

Yes in those days there was probably someone waiting on the other side of the window to deliver your letter the moment you put it in the box!
I used to walk past that shop every day on my way home, when I lived in St. Cross. They do very nice cakes. Thank you - you are making me feel very homesick!
