Next door to Milner Hall and part of St Peter's Church buildings is St Peter's Convent. The numbers of sisters here are dwindling as I understand. Currently they run St Peter's Convent Nursery School. I myself went to a convent - I hope these nuns aren't as fierce as some of mine were!
I have nothing against nuns but I hate visiting convents. May be because of the bad experiance with them while I was in school.
ReplyDeleteBut Beautiful picture.
It doesn't look like a "typical" convent in my opinion. I grew up a protestant Lutheran so I have no experiences with nuns in school!
ReplyDeleteNot quite sure why I went to a convent school, my family aren't even Catholic, but there you go!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visits and the comments. Finally added my blog to my profile.

I remember the nuns from my elementary school and also remember one time being on the grounds of the nuns convent. I remember the fear of just being on the grounds.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks well-kept. The walls are so white!
ReplyDeleteI had a mean nun too. It really does look like a nun kind of place.
ReplyDeleteThe poor old-time teaching nuns have such a bad rap.
ReplyDeleteThe thought of Sister Patricia discovering I hadn't done my homework strikes fear even now!
ReplyDeleteOi! And did they use corporal punishment?
ReplyDeleteNo corporal punishment fortunately! Just a lot of strictness & discipline! Probably could do with a bit more of that in some schools!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Amanda! This is known as "The White House" and I'm writing about it, as I went to St. Peter's and was very badly treated by a particular nun!
ReplyDeleteMy son went to the pre school here they were all lovely and even got my son toilet trained quickly cant thank them all enough for the care they certainly helped him alot with his early years education
