The White Swan pub is in Hyde Street in Winchester. Although this is geographically probably the closest pub to my house I prefer to go to the King Alfred pub in Hyde. The pub has been in existence since 1784 and was referred to at some time in the past as The Mucky Duck.
Definitely an improvement in the new name! :)
ReplyDeleteThis one looks nice enough from the outside. Here in Leeds we also have a pub referred to as the Mucky Duck and it is was mucky by name mucky by nature, yuck.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a nice pub. Love the white exterior.
ReplyDeletepristine!
ReplyDeleteThere was also a "White Swan" near Crystal Palace in London and also in other places, that's like the King's head or the Queen's, lol !
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful Pub ! Could need a drink in there right now !
The White Swan is quite a popular name for pubs. Mucky Duck - not so appealing!
ReplyDeleteQuite ironic reading these comments now that it has been officially renamed to Mucky Duck :)
