Broken?
I had heard the other day that the Buttercross had been damaged. I went down there myself and couldn't see anything, but I think I was looking at the wrong side. (Excuse photo quality it was taken on my phone)
I love that the Hampshire Chronicle take this opportunity to mention the damage caused by students 10 years ago. I doubt it was them again! Such a shame though, the Buttercross is so important.
That's a shame when such old things are damaged.

ReplyDeleteYes I noticed the 'students from Southampton' comment! Its a wonder the cathedral is still standing with all the students in Winchester! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly a wonder that there's any grass left in the cathedral grounds, as that's where they seem to spend all their time!
ReplyDeleteI would hate it if the Buttercross were to be seriously damaged, I loved it as soon as I saw it.
