High Street market

There have been lots of debates on the market in the High Street & I've decided that on reflection I don't really like it that much. The stalls block the entrances to shops and make it difficult to walk down the High Street at the weekend because it gets so crowded, some of the stalls sell some interesting things but there is also a lot of uninteresting stuff.

  1. Sometimes, a good thing outgrows itself and sadly becomes a nuisance. Personally, I don't like a lot of people around when I am shopping or browsing.

  2. Perhaps the Council should move it somewhere else . . . . like the Water Meadows? I hate street markets!

  3. At least it gives the chuggers less room to operate in - I used to hate walking down the High Street every day, always being accosted. Is the original market still in its old place?

  4. Agreed. Farmers Market is amazing. The occasional craft markets and so on are nice to, but the everyday stalls are just a pain.

It looses any appeal if it's there thursday through to every Sunday!

  5. There's still a market down by the Brooks Centre too, I can't remember if it's there every day, but the High Street market seems to be every day!
